The Critique of the Legend of Maria Makiling by Cyrus Garcia

Maria Makiling is a mysterious fairy guarding mount makiling. No one knows how old is she Few people say she is old as the mountain, she still graceful with brown skin, deep black eyes and hair almost touching the ground. She appears after a storm, she strolls around the wood to straighten broken trunks, replace nests on the branches of trees, mend the wings of the butterflies and clear the streams of fallen twigs and log then all sighs of storm disappear, roses, flowers, orchids bloom birds chirp with glee, and deer run once again. Maria Makiling is known to have a good heart, she change her appearance to help elderly. She put gold coins to their pockets she invite tired hunters and offer them a warm meal. She test the kindness of a person by pretending to be an old lady begging for food or help. If the person is helpful she giving them blessings and if people refuse to help she chase them out of the mountain with sound of howling monster. People offers her white chicken to repay her kindness.
I found this story a great story, because it can teach us moral lessons. This story was written at Laguna. It has positive points though and that is the lesson I've learned in the story. We should't be abusive to people's kindness. We should always give a hand to those who need our help.
